We invite you to be part
of the 2020 East Texas
Leadership Summit

Our endeavor is to build upon great local leadership. We really believe in the power of developing our local leaders to best serve East Texas in the future. The East Texas Leadership Summit began with the motive of bringing an event like no other to East Texas, in order to make an impact. Impact derives from taking action and since then, we have stood by our mission of the East Texas Leadership Summit, “Connecting to Make an Impact!”.

The energy that is shared among local leaders at the summit is inspiring. We believe that energy will carry on through the connections that are made and the collaborations that will follow. During the summit, we commit to that common agenda of making an impact in our communities, in East Texas, and wherever life takes us.

The 2019 Summit was a huge success; attracting a record number of attendees to speak, see, and listen about growth, diversity and innovation. This year’s summit will be even bigger and better, so we hope you’ll join us! We can’t wait to get this leadership opportunity to more people!

Hear from these inspirational speakers in our keynote and sessions

A Peabody award-winning journalist, speaker, and author who has traveled around the world to help us discover & celebrate what makes each of us unique. As the only Latina national correspondent on NBC News, she’s become an advocate for diversity, inclusion and authentic storytelling. Mariana’s TEDx Talk - What makes you special? - is one of the most viewed TEDx Talks online with more than 10 million views translated in 10 languages thus far.

After fleeing violence and oppression in her native Venezuela, Mariana came to the United States to study journalism at Columbia University. For a decade, she worked as a TV anchor/reporter on national networks like NBC and Univision covering some the most important stories of our time in both Spanish and English. Her work has been honored with a Peabody, multiple Emmy Nominations, a Gracie Award, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Presidential Award and Columbia University’s First Decade Award.

In 2019, Harper Collins published Mariana’s first book Perfectly You: Embracing the Power of Being Real, in English and Spanish, which is part self-help and part autobiography, and digs into what makes each of us special and the ways in which we can become a force for good in a broken world.

These days, Mariana continues to create viral content to inspire her community of almost 400,000 followers on social media. She has partnered with Spotify, Microsoft, Bacardi, LinkedIn and the American Library Association. Mariana recently hosted the Citi Private Bank annual event and keynoted the United Nation’s “Girl Up” Leadership Summit, inspiring people from around the world to be leaders in their communities.
